My Kind of Party

...is one that states on the invitation, "Your presence is the only gift required." We attended that party today.

First we had to go fill up gas tank. $4.79/gal. What the heck?! Crazy. I did some rough calculating and realized that attending the party would cost me approximately $32 in gas round trip, plus another $5 for bridge toll. Glad I didn't have to buy a gift on top of that.

    We've been hearing about your rising gas prices and refinery troubles! Strangely, prices here have been receding so that last I saw was $3.43.

    That is really high for the States! We are living overseas, and the prices are almost twice that, but it doesn't lead to a lot of stress because people over here are used to it... also, they have the insurance of using a lot of cheaper (and cleaner) alternate fuels that are ignored in the US, like propane, natural gas, and methane to fuel their cars. I wish we would start doing that in the States, there is no good reason not to!
